Caritas-Valvuthayam and Misereor Rehabilitate Unused Public Well in Mannar Southbar Village on World Water Day

On the occasion of World Water Day, Caritas-Valvuthayam’s environmental protection department, with the financial support of Misereor, rehabilitated a public well in Mannar Southbar village that had been unused for a long time. The well was officially handed over today. An awareness walk and discussion were also organized to raise awareness of the importance of Water Day and the challenges facing contemporary water issues.
The event was attended by the Director of Caritas-Valvuthayam, Rev. Fr. Sebamalai Anton, Technical Assistant of the National Water and Climate Council Mr. Balasingham Dayabaran, Development Officer of the Central Environment Authority Mr. A. Rejivolran, Forest Development Officer of the Forest Department Mr. Arunraj, Wildlife Department Officer Mr. Risara Hambuke, and the Southbar Village Service Officer Development Officer and Samurthi Officer. Notably, forty to fifty beneficiaries from Southbar village, including children, youth, and adults, also participated in the event, which began at 9:00 AM and ended at 11:00 AM
