As part of its ongoing commitment to improving food security and promoting sustainable livelihoods, Caritas Valvuthayam, through its Food Security Project, conducted a seed distribution program in Asikkulam village, Vavuniya.
A total of 22 beneficiaries including 20 women and 2 men participated in the event, receiving a variety of vegetable seeds to support the establishment and expansion of home gardens. These home gardens not only enhance household nutrition but also empower families, especially women, to take an active role in food production and income generation.
This activity reflects Caritas Valvuthayam’s grassroots approach to building resilient communities through practical support, knowledge sharing, and promoting self-sufficiency among vulnerable populations.
Caritas Valvuthayam remains committed to creating a hunger-free future by enabling families to grow their own food and thrive with dignity.
