Caritas Valvuthayam’s Food Security Unit, with the support of Caritas Norway, successfully conducted the Selection of Village and Introductory Workshop in Konnayankudiyiruppu on March 11, 2025, at 2:30 pm. This initiative aimed to identify target communities for sustainable development projects while fostering community participation.
Key Highlights of the Event
Project Introduction: The Program Coordinator provided a comprehensive explanation of the project’s objectives and its impact on local communities.
Village Selection Criteria: The selection process focused on identifying farmer families, women-headed households, persons with disabilities, widows, and low-income families. Key factors considered included land and water availability, interest in home gardening, and family size to ensure maximum impact.
Formation of Community-Based Organization (CBO): To strengthen community leadership and participation, administrative members for the CBO were selected, ensuring that the community plays an active role in future development initiatives.
