Celebrating Achievements and Empowering Futures at Valvuthayam Vocational Training Centre

On 26th March 2025, Caritas Valvuthayam celebrated a significant milestone at the Valvuthayam Vocational Training Centre, recognizing the accomplishments of students and women participants whose dedication and perseverance have paved the way for brighter futures.

The event honored 12 students who successfully completed the NVQ Level 3 Certificate Course, marking the end of a rigorous journey of vocational training, discipline, and skill development. Their achievement represents not just a qualification, but a gateway to professional growth and self-reliance.

In addition, 27 young women from Vavuniya were honored with certificates for completing a one-month cake icing course under Caritas Valvuthayam’s Women Empowerment Project. Their participation and success reflect not only newly acquired skills but also the blossoming of entrepreneurial confidence and creativity.

The occasion was graced by:

  • Rev. Fr. Desman Angelo, Dean of Vavuniya Deanery & Parish Priest of Veppankulam, who blessed and congratulated the participants
  • Ms. Vasuki, Officer for Small Scale Industry at Vavuniya DS Office, who emphasized the importance of youth entrepreneurship for local economic growth
  • Sisters of St. Joseph’s Convent and the Rev. Sr. Principal of Canara Preschool, Veppankulam, whose presence added warmth and encouragement
  • Mr. Nerojan, Coordinator of the Valvuthayam Vocational Training Institute, who offered words of inspiration and guidance

Empowerment Through Celebration

The event was more than a graduation it was a vibrant celebration of transformation. The highlight of the day was the cultural dance performances by the women trainees, showcasing not only their talent but their renewed sense of confidence and empowerment.
