Crop Clinic Program Supports Farmers in Samayapuram Village

As part of its ongoing commitment to improving sustainable agriculture and rural livelihoods, Caritas Valvuthayam’s Food Security Project conducted a Crop Clinic Program in Samayapuram village, Vavuniya.

The training session, facilitated by a qualified Agricultural Instructor, focused on practical solutions for crop-related issues including pest and disease management, soil health, and climate-smart farming practices. A total of 22 farmers participated, with a strong representation of women farmers (19 female and 3 male participants), highlighting the growing role of women in agriculture.

The program provided participants with technical knowledge and field-level guidance to help them improve crop yield and adopt sustainable farming methods.

Caritas Valvuthayam remains dedicated to empowering local communities through knowledge-sharing, food security, and sustainable development in the Vanni region.
