Centre for Disabled Supports Medical Camp in Puttalam District in Collaboration with ChildFund Sri Lanka

Caritas Valvuthayam’s Centre for Disabled (CFD) actively participated in a three-day medical camp organized by ChildFund Sri Lanka in the Puttalam District, supporting persons with disabilities and children with special needs through expert assessments and guidance.

The medical camp was held across three divisions as follows:

  • Pallama Division – 18th July 2025
  • Wennappuwa Division – 19th July 2025
  • Nattandiya Division – 20th July 2025

A total of 96 beneficiaries participated in the medical camp, and 68 individuals were identified as needing assistive support, including:

  • Prosthetic and Orthotic devices
  • Mobility devices (wheelchairs, walkers, crutches)
  • Developmental devices for children with disabilities

The professional team from the Centre for Disabled conducted thorough assessments to determine the specific needs of each individual and offered recommendations accordingly. Their involvement helped ensure that vulnerable individuals in the region received proper care, follow-up, and pathways for improved mobility and independence.

Caritas Valvuthayam remains committed to its mission of uplifting the dignity and quality of life of persons with disabilities, especially in underserved regions. We sincerely thank ChildFund Sri Lanka for the partnership and opportunity to serve.
