Caritas Valvuthayam – Centre for Disabled (CFD) has once again extended its compassionate service beyond district borders by supporting a medical camp organized under ChildFund’s project in the Puttalam District.
Through this initiative, the CFD Prosthetic and Orthotic team conducted a special casting camp to provide customized orthotic devices for children and adults identified during the earlier assessment camps. The outreach covered 12 villages across Puttalam District — Nawagathegama, Pallama, Wennappuwa, Nattandiya, Dankotuwa, Chilaw, Madampe, Mahawewa, Mundal, Arachchikattuwa, and Katupotha.
During the camp, 107 beneficiaries were successfully casted, and a total of 286 orthotic devices were measured and prepared to improve their mobility, independence, and quality of life.
This effort reflects Caritas Valvuthayam’s ongoing commitment to serve the most vulnerable, especially persons with disabilities, by providing accessible rehabilitation services and inclusive support to help them lead dignified and independent lives.

Caritas Valvuthayam sincerely thanks ChildFund Sri Lanka for the partnership and collaboration that made this mission possible, and appreciates the dedication of the Centre for Disabled’s Prosthetic and Orthotic team for their tireless work in the field.
Together, we restore mobility, dignity, and hope.
