The Ashikulam Community-Based Organization (CBO), under the Food Security Project of Caritas Valvuthayam, recently held its biannual cultural event, combined with their regular monthly meeting, in Ashikulam, Vavuniya.

This special gathering was organized entirely by the CBO and aimed to strengthen unity and promote mutual understanding among members. As part of the celebration, the Food Security Team of Caritas Valvuthayam was also invited, building closer ties between the community and the project staff.

One of the highlights of the event was the communal meal CBO members cooked together, shared delicious food, and enjoyed the day with laughter and togetherness. This spirit of cooperation and joy reflected the strong bonds among the members.

In addition to cultural celebrations held twice a year, the Ashikulam CBO continues its meaningful practices of celebrating members’ birthdays and offering emergency support to families in need demonstrating deep care, solidarity, and grassroots leadership.
