Caritas Valvuthayam Raises Awareness on Drug and Alcohol Abuse Among Students in Thalvupadu

As part of its mission to protect and empower young people, Caritas Valvuthayam – Mannar, through its Educational Assistance Unit, organized an important awareness seminar on the dangers of narcotic drugs and alcohol on 17 August 2025 at St. Joseph’s Church, Thalvupadu, Mannar.

The program brought together students from Grades 7 to 11, aiming to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and to encourage healthier, more responsible life choices.

The session featured engaging talks and practical guidance that helped students understand the risks of drug and alcohol use, while also inspiring them to make positive decisions for their future.

This initiative was carried out under the leadership of Rev. Fr. G.A. Arulraj Croos, Director of Caritas Valvuthayam – Mannar, with the support of the Educational Assistance Unit team.

Through such programs, Caritas Valvuthayam continues its commitment to safeguarding children and youth from harmful influences, fostering resilience, and building a foundation of hope for a brighter tomorrow.
