Centre for Disabled Extends Support at Medical Camp in Puttalam District
In Partnership with ChildFund Sri Lanka
Caritas Valvuthayam’s Centre for Disabled (CFD) proudly joined hands with ChildFund Sri Lanka to support a three-day Medical Camp in the Puttalam District, aimed at identifying and supporting persons with disabilities (PWDs) and children with special needs (CWDs) through expert assessment and intervention.
The medical camps were held in three divisions:
• Dankottuwa Division – 26th July 2025
• Chilaw Division – 28th July 2025
• Madhampa Division – 29th July 2025
A total of 49 beneficiaries participated in detailed assessments, and 85 individuals were identified as needing specialized assistive support, which included:
Prosthetic and Orthotic devices
Mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, and crutches
Developmental devices tailored for children with disabilities
Our professional team from the Centre for Disabled conducted personalized evaluations, ensuring that each participant received appropriate guidance, referrals, and follow-up care for enhanced mobility, functionality, and dignity.
This initiative reflects our continued commitment to improving the quality of life for vulnerable and marginalized individuals, especially in rural and underserved areas.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to ChildFund Sri Lanka for the strong collaboration and shared vision of inclusivity and care.
Together, we move toward a more inclusive and compassionate society—one life at a time.
