As part of its mission to strengthen food security and promote sustainable agriculture, Caritas Valvuthayam’s Food Security Unit organized a Crop Clinic Training Program on 16.05.2025 in Suntharapuram, Vavuniya.
The session was facilitated by an experienced Agricultural Instructor (AI) who provided hands-on guidance and expert advice on:
- Pest and disease management in home gardens
- Crop nutrition and soil care
- Climate-resilient farming practices
- Field-based problem diagnosis and practical solutions
A total of 29 farmers benefited from the session, including 5 men and 24 women, highlighting strong female participation in building resilient farming communities.
This initiative is part of Caritas Valvuthayam’s ongoing commitment to empowering vulnerable families with the tools and knowledge needed to improve household food production, generate income, and build sustainable rural livelihoods.
