We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of a comprehensive training program aimed at empowering staff members from Deaflink, Valvuthayam’s CBR (Community-Based Rehabilitation) workers, and MARDP (Mobile App-based Rural Development Program) staff. Which was held on April 15th, 2024, at Vallvuthayam Common Hall, this initiative marked a significant step towards fostering inclusivity and improving accessibility for individuals with disabilities and the elderly.
The training program focused on imparting technical and practical knowledge essential for effectively handling and utilizing a range of assistive devices, including prosthetic and orthotic devices, mobility aids, and wheelchairs. Additionally, participants received valuable insights into wheelchair maintenance techniques and usage tips, ensuring the longevity and optimal functioning of these vital tools.
Throughout the day-long session, participants engaged in hands-on activities, interactive discussions, and practical demonstrations, facilitated by experienced trainers and experts in the field. The dynamic learning environment provided a platform for skill development and knowledge exchange, empowering attendees with the necessary expertise to assist people with disabilities and elderly individuals in navigating various environments and situations with confidence.
A total of 12 dedicated individuals actively participated in the training program, demonstrating their commitment to enhancing accessibility and mobility for all members of the community. From 9:30 am to 4:00 pm, participants delved into various aspects of assistive technology and support strategies, enriching their understanding and proficiency in serving individuals with diverse needs.
This initiative underscores our unwavering commitment to promoting inclusivity, dignity, and independence for people with disabilities and the elderly. By equipping our staff with the skills and knowledge to facilitate access and mobility in all circumstances, we strive to create a more inclusive and supportive society for everyone.
