Caritas Valvuthayam recently conducted a vital training program titled “How to Handle Children with Disabilities in Schools” for preschool teachers supported through our Early Childhood Development initiatives.
The training was facilitated by Dr. Joseph from Norway, an expert in inclusive education and disability care. A total of 10 preschool teachers and 3 project staff participated in this highly interactive and informative session.
The program was graciously inaugurated by Rev. Fr. G.A. Arulraj Croos, Director of Caritas Valvuthayam, who emphasized the importance of inclusive education and the role of preschool teachers in building a compassionate and supportive learning environment for all children.
Throughout the session, participants explored:
- Understanding different types of disabilities in early childhood
- Creating inclusive classroom environments
- Practical strategies for communication and engagement
- The importance of empathy and collaboration with families
This training aimed to strengthen the capacity of teachers to identify, support, and nurture children with disabilities, ensuring that no child is left behind in their foundational years.
We thank Dr. Joseph for his expertise and dedication, and appreciate the enthusiasm and commitment shown by all the participants. Together, we move closer to a society where every child receives equal opportunities to grow, learn, and thrive.
