As part of its efforts to strengthen community health and food security, Caritas Valvuthayam’s Food Security Project organized a Nutrition Awareness Program for parents of preschool children in Josephvaz Nagar, Mannar.
The session was facilitated by a Public Health Midwife (PHM) and a Midwife, who educated participants on the importance of balanced diets, child nutrition, and healthy cooking practices using locally available ingredients.
A total of 24 parents participated in the program — 23 women and 1 man — demonstrating strong community engagement, especially from mothers committed to their children’s well-being.
Through this initiative, Caritas Valvuthayam aims to build healthier families and communities by promoting nutrition knowledge, especially during early childhood development.
