As part of its continued commitment to improving rural livelihoods and food security, Caritas Valvuthayam’s Food Security Project successfully conducted a Livestock Program in Thoddavely village, Mannar District.
This informative session was led by a Veterinary Doctor, who provided participants with essential knowledge on:
- Animal health and disease prevention
- Proper feeding techniques and shelter management
- Breeding and care for sustainable livestock rearing
A total of 29 community members (Male: 3, Female: 26) actively participated in the program, demonstrating strong interest particularly from women in enhancing livestock-based income and household nutrition.
By equipping local families with these skills, the project aims to build resilient, self-reliant communities that can sustain themselves through eco-friendly and profitable farming practices.
Caritas Valvuthayam remains dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable through hands-on training and practical solutions for a better future.
