As the industrialization is the only effective way to help rural economy to bring up above the poverty line, with all experience and resource availability, Caritas-Valvuthayam encouraged Kunchukkulam CBO to request for a handloom center in the village. This dream came to reality in 2017 where government supported with technical and marketing assistance.
By the classic advice and elegant effort of Caritas-Valvuthayam, 4 youth were assisted with skill development training in the center through capacity building programmes. After six months of training, these trainees followed on the job training until 31stof July 2020. Due to their three years of learning and work experience, these four youth who are specialized in handloom production, innovatively started cottage level production.
Kunchukkulam CBO assisted with micro-finance system under STROMME FOUNDATION project leased Rs.25,000.00 loan to each youth to purchase raw materials. Now they are happy and become self-employed. They are extremely thankful to Caritas-Valvuthayam and Sromme Foundation.
