Caritas Valvuthayam Joined hands with PAFFREL to observe and monitor the Parliamentary election, held on 05th of August 2020 in Sri Lanka with the Support of the United Nations Democracy Fund.

By utilizing the fund, Caritas Valvuthayam conducted advocacy and awareness programmes in varies places in the District of Mannar, Covering issues such as voters Education programme, Democracy and Human rights. It has motivated and encouragedvoters to exercise their basic democratic right to vote. They were also motivated to propagate values and criteria for selection of candidates.

During this period, Caritas, Valvuthayam and PAFFREL havecommitted to support the people to exercise their rights with the support of the United Nations Democracy Fund working in close collaboration. I wish to thank PAFFREL and UNDEF that extended the financial support to achieve Free and fair election.
