People in all walks of life are affected by the present economic crisis and the price hike for all the materials. Particularly the poor, marginalized, the daily laborers, and low wage workers face a lot of difficulties in fulfilling the basic needs of the family. In this situation they are unable to care for the education of their children. the prices for educational equipment’s and note books have climbed un imaginable rate. To address this issue Caritas-Valvuthayam on 20^th December 2022, planned to dispense school bags and note books for the children of sanitary workers in the Mannar urban council. Altogether 84 school going children received school bags and note books. The Director of Caritas- Valvuthayam Rev.Fr.Anton organized this event and distributed educational equipment’s for the children, the secretary of Mannar Urban Council Mr. Masnat Jesuthasan Roch and other officials were present for this occasion. We are happy to note that this educational equipment’s were sponsored by Mr. George, Mrs. Trinity thampillai and Mr. Richard Nicholas from Canada.
