With the financial assistance of the Strom Foundation, CARITAS-VALVUTHAYAM has been developing and operating a Community Based Organization (CBO) at the 2nd Mile Post in the Madhu Division. Under the CBO, the CBO created five self-help groups and promotes them as self-reliantpeople. The CBO has also set up a gender equality committee to observe violence against women.

At the request of the gender equality committee through the CBO, Caritas-Valvuthayam organized an awareness program on gender balance. Through this programme they discussed how to avoid violence, identify the causes of violence and accept the weakness of family members.

At the end, the beneficiaries thanked the resource person and the Caritas-Valvuthayam for creating awareness about gender equality.
