The budding Donors from Netherlands who support the Valvuthayam Vocational Training Centre at Mannar and Vavuniya made their annual visit to Valvuthayam on 19th and 20th January 2024. It was a delightful moment to welcome the Dutch partners with the grand traditional convivial ceremony practised in our Sri Lankan Culture. Marjolein, Han, Piet, Lydia and Antje we are privileged to have you all for a short period of time, your presence brought to us lots of joy and hope.
Certificate Awarding Ceremony
With the leadership of Rev.Fr.Arulraj Croos, the Director of Caritas-Valvuthayam, we organized a certificate awarding ceremony for the students who successfully completed their course in Mannar and Vavuniya Centre. we are glad to declare that 49 students in Mannar IT Centre, and 19 students from Vavuniya IT Centre were awarded with ICTT (NVQ Level 3) Certificates distributed by the donors.
Visit to Tablet Class for the kids
Donors visited the tablet class Vavuniya Centre. Children from grades 4 to 7 benefit from this tablet class, altogether14 children were present for the class. Children were happy to meet the patrons. the end, they were distributed with gifts.
We appreciate the Dutch Foundation for their dedication, commitment and hard work in empowering deserving children and youth through several edifying activities in the districts of Mannar and Vavuniya. In the recent binary years, 404 students have obtained ICTT (NVQ level 3) certificates, which expands their career goals, some of the former students are placed in jobs and earning good salary, and others who perceive their higher studies also making use of this skill, as computer knowledge is mandatory for their higher studies.
