On 18th May 2022, Fr.Anton, Director of Caritas Mannar conjointly with Diocesan commission for Peace and justice, Mannar citizenship commission head Rev.Fr.Gnanaprakasam organized the 13th year Mullivaikal memorial event under the able guidance of Rev.Dr.Emmanuel Fernando.
Morning 9 Am, the event commenced with Rosary procession Started Infront of the grotto of Our Lady of Madhu, the central place of Mannar city towards the cathedral church. beginning of the event Fr.Anton welcomed the gathering and highlighted the purpose of observing this day in honor of our close relations who were massacred at Mullivaikal in the year 2009 during the civil war. Followed by Rev.Fr.Christunayagam addressed the gathering.
The staff of Caritas Valvuthayam lead the Rosary procession towards St.Sebastian church. Rev. Fr.Augustine prearranged a prayer service and Eucharistic adoration. A special prayer offered for the beloved departed relatives during war. And every one offered “Flower Anjali” praying eternal bliss to the dear departed souls.
In this prayer service Rev.Father’s from the diocese of Mannar, Rev.Sisters, Parishners, and social well-wishers participated. May God Grant His peace and eternal rest to all our deceased souls.
