Caritas Valvuthayam is in the field today (on the 24th march 2020)to support and address Hunger of 2 villages namely Thevanpiddi and Kaththalampiddi of mathai west DS division of Mannar district. Government of Sri Lanka imposes continued curfew orders to protect its people from Corona virus spread. the daily earnings of the particular fishing communities have been lost and the entire village families have faced scacity of food at homes to have 3 times meal in a day. At the very right time the parish priest incharge of community and the respective divisional secretary requested caritas Valvuthayam for its intervention to feed starving community due to poverty and scacity of food. In total 318 families from both villages were provided dry ration food pack.
