Crop Clinic Training Empowers Farmers in Tharapuram

Caritas Valvuthayam, through its ongoing Food Security Project, successfully conducted a Crop Clinic Training on May 8, 2025, at Tharapuram village in the Mannar District. The session aimed to equip local farmers with practical knowledge on pest and disease management, crop nutrition, and sustainable agricultural practices.

The training was facilitated by an experienced Agricultural Instructor, who guided participants through effective crop care techniques, field diagnosis, and climate-resilient farming strategies.

A total of 27 beneficiaries actively participated in the session, including 5 men and 22 women, showcasing strong female involvement in agricultural development.

This training marks another step toward strengthening the livelihoods and food resilience of small-scale farmers in the region. Caritas Valvuthayam remains committed to promoting eco-friendly farming, improving household food security, and empowering vulnerable farming communities in Mannar.
